Welcome!
I’m Jennifer—the author, photographer, and Chief Grocery Shopper for Savor with Jennifer.
I am the mother of three fabulous kiddos, an avid gardener, prodigious book devourer, and passionate food lover from Missouri.
I whole heartedly believe the old adage that Food Brings People Together!
Coming together as a family to share a meal is one of the most important parts of my family’s day. Sometimes my kiddos and I bond and share in the creation process, sometimes cooking is a solitary escape to re-establish my sanity.
I grew up in a large, boisterous family where dinner preparation and clean up was shared by all. Cooking was, and still frequently is, a multi-generational event where everyone always thinks their way is the best and correct way. A lot of spirited debate has taken place over the years over proper cooking methods and recipe ingredient proportions.
My brothers and I grew up helping to chop stir-fry ingredients and make homemade pizza. My sweet tooth was frequently indulged by making being allowed to experiment with cakes and cookies for birthdays, church events, and dinner parties. At a young age, my Mom started an evening job that gave me the opportunity to be in charge, experiment, and create supper (and coincidentally, get out of dishes!), which really gave me a great foundation for how to cook for a family.
The constant ambition to create, explore, improve, and savor has led me down the path that I’m on today.
What you will find in Savor With Jennifer
I love being inspired by fresh, seasonal ingredients and always prefer whole and minimally processed over pre-packaged.
While quick and easy always has a place, and I have a lot of Meals Ready In 30 Minutes, sometimes it’s worth a little extra time and effort when you hear “Mom, that was the BEST cake I’ve ever has!” or “Wow! That was INCREDIBLE! Can I have your recipe?” from your friends. It just melts my heart.
The love and passion of family, friends, and food and is what has inspired me to start this blog. Always striving to elevate my recipes, getting my hands dirty in my vegetable garden, traveling and exploring to new places and cultures and the culinary inspiration I’ve found there, watching my children grow and change, all of this and so much more is just an invitation to savor life. I hope you will enjoy Savor with Jennifer.
I LOVE sharing my passion of food. Follow me on Pinterest, Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter.
